All India – India’s deep-tech startup ecosystem received another milestone moment as BonV Aero was named a winner at the prestigious MSME Ratna Awards 2025, instituted by the Chamber of Indian Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME). The recognition underscores BonV Aero’s growing contribution to advanced drone technology and aerospace innovation, particularly in the development of heavy-lift electric aerial vehicles.
The award was presented during a high-profile industry gathering attended by senior policymakers, financial leaders, and representatives from India’s MSME ecosystem. The selection process was overseen by a distinguished jury comprising former chairmen of major state-owned banks and members of the judiciary, lending credibility and rigor to the evaluation. BonV Aero emerged as a standout for its technical capabilities, innovation-driven approach, and potential to scale within India’s evolving industrial landscape.
Established to track and encourage the progress of small businesses and startups, the MSME Ratna Awards focus on enterprises that meaningfully contribute to India’s long-term industrial and manufacturing goals. As India works toward strengthening domestic manufacturing and technological self-reliance, the awards identify MSMEs that demonstrate operational resilience, technological depth, and readiness for large-scale impact. BonV Aero’s work in the aerospace sector aligned strongly with these objectives, particularly its focus on electric aerial logistics platforms.
The Chief Guest of the event, Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, highlighted the central role of MSMEs in India’s economic future. “MSMEs and banks are the inseparable twins of India’s economy. Their shared journey is not merely a commercial necessity, but a national imperative to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. When we empower our MSMEs today, we are building the corporate legends of tomorrow,” he said, reinforcing the importance of institutional support for innovation-led enterprises.
Commenting on the recognition, Satyabrata Satapathy, Chief Executive of BonV Aero, said, “This award recognizes our work in developing electric platforms for cargo transport in difficult geographies. Our focus remains on the engineering of systems that provide logistics support where ground infrastructure is limited.” His remarks reflect the company’s mission to address real-world logistical challenges through advanced aerial mobility solutions.
The judging panel, which included former heads of SIDBI, Punjab National Bank, and Canara Bank, assessed nominees on their ability to evolve from small-scale operations into larger, more structured corporate entities. Beyond recognition, the awards aim to create pathways for startups to access financial institutions, regulatory frameworks, and growth-oriented networks essential for long-term success.
Mukesh Mohan Gupta, President of CIMSME, emphasized the broader economic significance of such enterprises. “We have institutionalized these awards to motivate entrepreneurs to scale their operations. The MSME sector serves as a primary engine for employment, and the participation of companies like BonV Aero is necessary for the vision of a developed India,” he stated.
The MSME Ratna Award adds to BonV Aero’s growing list of accolades, including earlier recognition from the Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM). Together, these honours mark a phase of sustained momentum for the company as it transitions from prototype development toward commercial deployment across logistics and defense supply chains. With innovation at its core, BonV Aero’s journey reflects the rising role of Indian MSMEs in shaping the future of aerospace and drone technology.
