Abhay Sinha Meets Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary Over Bihar Film Policy, Urges Early Approval of Subsidies

Patna: Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) President Abhay Sinha, along with IMPPA Executive Committee member and FMC Secretary Nishant Ujjwal, paid a courtesy visit to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary to congratulate him on assuming office and extend their best wishes. The meeting also served as an important platform to discuss ways to strengthen the film industry in Bihar and make the state’s film policy more effective and industry-friendly.

During the interaction, Abhay Sinha prominently raised the issue of subsidies provided under the Bihar Film Policy. He informed the Deputy Chief Minister that more than 30 films have been produced in Bihar over the past few years, reflecting growing interest among filmmakers. However, several of these projects are still awaiting approval of the promised government subsidies, causing concern among producers.

Sinha urged the state government to expedite the subsidy approval process so that filmmakers’ confidence in Bihar as a filming destination remains intact. He emphasized that timely financial support is crucial for sustaining momentum and encouraging further investments in the state’s film ecosystem.

Highlighting Bihar’s vast potential for film production, Abhay Sinha said the state offers a rich cultural heritage, diverse locations, and abundant creative talent capable of attracting filmmakers from across the country. He noted that with well-structured incentives and timely support, Bihar could emerge not only as a major hub for Bhojpuri cinema but also for films in other Indian languages.

Responding positively, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary assured the delegation that the government would work towards speeding up the subsidy approval process. He said efforts are underway to create a more conducive environment for film production in Bihar. The Deputy Chief Minister also revealed plans to organize large-scale film award ceremonies and cultural events in the state, aimed at strengthening Bihar’s identity in the fields of cinema and arts.

Welcoming the assurance, Abhay Sinha expressed confidence that the government’s proactive approach would give a fresh direction and renewed momentum to the film industry in Bihar, paving the way for sustainable growth and national recognition.
