Windows Productions has released the official teaser of its upcoming horror-comedy Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Mimi Chakraborty, Soham Majumder, Bonny Sengupta, Swastika Dutta, Anamika Saha, Manasi Sinha, Kanchan Mullick, and Joydeep Mukherjee. Now streaming on YouTube, the teaser offers a quirky, atmospheric peek into a haunted world where humour and the supernatural collide—marking the banner’s first foray into the genre.
Directed by Aritra Mukherjee and written by Zinia Sen, the film is set in an eerie hotel populated by eccentric characters and riddled with unexpected twists. The teaser intrigues without giving away too much, leaning on mood, mystery, and playful beats to draw viewers in.
Visually, the teaser stands out with shadow-laden frames, a moody colour palette, and an old-world charm that lends the haunted hotel a personality of its own. The careful balance between suspense and light-hearted humour hints at chaos unfolding in surprising ways, suggesting a genre blend that values atmosphere and storytelling over conventional scares.
Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel marks a creative milestone for Windows Productions, known for its emotionally grounded, audience-friendly cinema. With this film, the banner explores horror-comedy while staying true to character-driven narratives—a sensibility clearly reflected in the teaser’s blend of supernatural elements, wit, and warmth.
Speaking about the film, director Aritra Mukherjee said, “With Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel, we wanted to create a space where horror doesn’t just scare you but also makes you smile. The teaser reflects the mood of the film—it’s atmospheric, mysterious, and playful at the same time. The challenge was balancing eeriness with humour without compromising storytelling.”
Sharing the genesis of the story, writer Zinia Sen said, “In June 2024, while staying in an old colonial hotel in Kalimpong with Nandita di and Shiboprosad, I often took long, solitary walks down its empty corridors. The dimly lit silence made me wonder—are all those around me truly human? That eerie thought lingered, and that’s where Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel was born. When I shared the idea with Nandita di, Shiboprosad, and later Aritra, everyone connected instantly. It’s not just a horror-comedy; it’s also a social reflection told through humour, fear, and heart.”
Actor Soham Majumder added, “This is my second stint with Windows Productions—the first being Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti. This is my first horror-comedy, a genre that’s seeing exciting experimentation across the country. Being part of such a beautiful story under Aritra Mukherjee’s direction has been special. I’m overwhelmed by the love the teaser has received—the character looks are being appreciated, and that means a lot. Thank you to the audience who continue to support my work and Windows’ films.”
Slated for a theatrical release on 23 January 2026, Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel promises a spirited mix of laughs, mystery, and supernatural mischief.
