Manasum Powers the Spirit of Senior Fitness at the TCS World 10K Marathon 2025

Senior Citizens’ Run Draws Over 1,700 Participants; Enthusiastic Response to Lucky Draw and Community Engagement

Bengaluru– Recently Manasum Senior Living Homes, in association with Vayah Vikas, proudly concluded its exclusive sponsorship of the Senior Citizens’ Run at the TCS World 10K 2025, held on Sunday, April 27 at the Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground, Bengaluru. The 3-kilometre non-timed walk/run welcomed over 1,700 senior citizens in a vibrant display of energy, community spirit, and enthusiasm for active ageing.

The event was flagged off by Sandeep Somesh, a former Indian hockey star and co-founder of Yes For Hockey!, whose presence inspired participants to embrace the day with passion and pride. The atmosphere was filled with encouragement, laughter, and a shared sense of purpose among seniors from all walks of life.

As part of its engagement, Manasum hosted a lively lucky draw, which added to the excitement of the day. The bumper prize was a Lenovo tablet, while there were other prizes such as smartwatches and individuals were offered complimentary trial stays at Manasum Banyan, providing them with an opportunity to experience the enriching lifestyle of a senior living community rooted in care, dignity, and connection.

Reflecting on the success of the collaboration, Mr. Anantharam Varayur, Founder of Manasum Senior Living Homes, and Marathon Runner himself said, “At Manasum, we believe this is about much more than just participating in something. Throughout the Running/Walking route, we witnessed seniors dancing, cheering each other on, and proudly displaying placards with witty captions like “We are the Class of ’30s,”Senior? Watch me OutRun you,” and “Quitting Ain’t my cup of Kaapi!”

Manasum founders Mr. Anantharam Varayur, Mrs. Sumathy and Kushal Ramesh were Walking/Running along with the seniors encouraging them throughout the course and actively participating in it. Mr. Anantharam attracted everyone’s attention by running in traditional Dhoti attire and everyone loved it. Additionally, Manasum set up a Digital Photobooth, allowing seniors to capture lasting memories from the Marathon, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Prior to the run, an energetic Zumba session was organized to get everyone moving and energized.

All participants received T-shirts sponsored by Manasum and medals from the organizers, celebrating their achievements.

Vayah Vikas also recognized the oldest participants in both the Men’s and Women’s categories, with the oldest male participant being 94 years old. There were also awards for the largest community and the highest participation from a single group or association, such as Laughter Clubs, Resident Welfare Associations, Yoga Clubs, and more.
